Hi, I know this is an old Thread, but I've not found any other complaints about this issue, even though i find it very apparent. i also just sent a request to sony support in case someone can help there im new to video editing so ill see if the sharpness recovers if i change it in davinchi. (actually at 6:00 he shows a 1080p clip and the quality drop there seems pretty big but again did he use any stablization at all? it seems not). whereas the drop in quality when i use even 99% stablization was massive. the image does move a tiny bit when he switches over to it, but he might not have used stablization at all. actually in that guys youtube video, he doesnt say if he rendered at 99% stablization or 100% stablization. i ran it through at 99% stablization instead of 80% and same drop in sharpness, clip basically goes from 4k to just slightly better than 1080p (i rendered that also just in case). if this is whats going on for me, the drop in quality or sharpness is realllly bad. ![]() i dont knowĮdit 2 seems at this youtube video he mentions a decrease in clip quality or sharpness occurs. I am wondering if its confused because i recorded in xavc HS at 45mbs compression setting. It just seems like Prepare exports my clip at mp4 quality no matter what settings I choose, IF I stablize the clip.Įdit also moved original file to desktop and unplugged camera in case it was somehow reading the wrong file from camera. I've now compared 7 different exports plus the original clip, in MPV player and then in VLC just in case it was my player being weird.ĭoesn't seem to be a 'sharpening' option that I've missed. SO, to conclude, the process of stablizing the clips is for some reason only exporting them at a low quality (the quality of Mp4 option) no matter what settings I select from the stablization -> export screen. Came out double+ file size as original clip but same good quality as original clip. I then tried exporting again with xavic s and i, and got the same low quality files either mxf or mp4, only varying file sizes.įinally I tried running the original clip through again but without any stablization, xavic Long, just straight up export it. Shouldn't it have exported a higher quality file this time? So I ran the original file back through as xavc Long and got the exact same quality out (only file size was double the original clip). I run it through Prepare to get out a stablized Mp4 and noticed the output quality was too bad for me. The original clip (an Mp4 on a7iv) looks great quality. I took them at something like 45mb/s xavc HS (aka Long afaik) 10-2-0 bit. ![]()
