He then picked up the basket and taking Frodo by a dirty arm he began to march towards the house. He reached for his master and prying his hands open, he took the slightly squished mushrooms from Frodo's hands and dropped them in the almost full basket that sat by the Sam shook himself and pushed the feeling aside, putting it down to the rarity of lightĮyes among hobbits. A heat flushed over his body in ways that only Rosie Cotton had been able to inspire. Sam could hold his amusement no longer as the laughter burst from his lips. He rounded the corner of Frodo's house and was astonished to find his master hunched over the patch of mushrooms and grubbing on the ground. He glowed warmly at the thought of his master's gratitude and joy Sam licked his lips at the thought of the platter of mushrooms and bacon that he wouldįry up for Frodo and surprise him with. In fact, the rain would have made them just ripe and ready enough. He had planted them as a surprise for his master, knowing his passion for the tastyįungus and they were about ready for picking. He was on his way to tend to the garden, and most especially the small patch of mushrooms he had carefullyĮncouraged, despite the fact that the ground around the Baggins garden wasn't really suitable for that kind of planting.
